Our Authentication Process

What Happens Before a Watch Is Listed

01. Physical Inspection

Every watch is examined in person by our in-house certified watchmakers. These are professionals with decades of experience across Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, and dozens of other brands. They assess case condition, dial integrity, bracelet wear, crystal condition, and overall presentation.

02. Movement Verification

The case back comes off. The movement is inspected to confirm it is correct for the reference number and production year. This catches franken-watches — pieces assembled from mismatched parts — that external inspection alone cannot detect.

03. Documentation Matching

Serial numbers are matched against papers and warranty cards. We verify that what the documentation says matches what the watch actually is. Box condition, accessory completeness, and provenance are all assessed and documented.

04. Timing and Function Testing

The watch is tested for timekeeping accuracy and all functions are confirmed operational — date changes, chronograph pushers, bezels, crowns, water resistance indicators. Professional timing tests confirm the movement is performing within acceptable parameters. Only after all four stages are passed is the watch photographed and listed.
